More Powerful than Fiction
Story of Near Death Experience Adds Impact to Industrial Safety.
Imagine laying on the job site crushed between pipes, hanging on for dear life.
In 1976, Kelley Everett was working on the Trans Alaskan Pipeline. His job was to sandblast and
bevel the ends of 60-foot lengths of pipe. Sections of pipe rested end to end, and
although the pipe fitters took care to see who might be working around the pipe uphill
of them, they got into the habit of working between the sections of pipe. He was 19 years
old when this almost fatal accident occurred that would change his future forever.....
Come listen to Kelley's story of his accident and bring life, literally into what so many
workers are dragged into each year with a sense of boredom - "The Company Safety Briefing"
Kelley is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and President of American Safety and Welding Supplies.
